Teaching Series
Courses are offered on a regular basis
at Emmanuel.
Lenten Course
A Heart
for the World
This four week course will be held on Monday evenings from
7:30—9:30 p.m. at Emmanuel. We will be looking at God’s
heart for the world and how he wants us to share his heart
and share in his work for the world. The Rev. Brian Parker,
Dr. Peter Dunn and Peter Rob- inson will be co-leading this
course.
The course begins Monday, February 18th and runs for 4 Monday
evenings from 7:30—9:30 p.m.
Feb. 18: The challenge for the people of Israel to share God’s
presence and goodness with the world.
Feb. 25: Being Salt and Light— bringing flavour and clarity
to a dark and tasteless world.
Mar. 3: Called to share what we have to bring God's presence
and hope to the world.
Mar. 10: Practicalities: Some Ways of being Salt and Light.
Everyone is welcome!
Marriage Course
Building Strong Foundations
The Art of Communication
Resolving Conflict
The Power of Forgiveness
Parents and In-laws
Good Sex
Love In Action
The aim of The Marriage Course is to enable
married couples to build a healthy marriage that will last
a lifetime. The course is beneficial and enjoyable for those
whose marriage is already strong and for those who are going
through difficulties. The course, which is being offered free-of-charge,
runs for seven
Monday evenings. Each evening starts with a video presentation
and then individual couples are given private, personal time
to discuss that evening’s
topic.
The privacy of each couple is always respected. The course is
based on Christian principles, but it is absolutely suitable
for couples without a church background. The institution of marriage
is a key component to a stable society and more than ever, it
needs positive reinforcement and attention brought to it. It
is essential that both husband and wife attend each evening.
If you are interested in attending please call the Church office.

Alpha Course
Have you ever wondered what relevance Jesus has for our lives
today? What is the point of life? Or is forgiveness possible?
This low key and fun course will give you the opportunity to
explore your questions in a friendly environment.
Through humour, insight, and with enthusiasm Nicky Gumbel encourages
us to explore who Jesus is and what the Christian faith is about. Emmanuel
Church has sponsored several Alpha Groups. Each evening
begins with dinner and an opportunity to get to know each other
in a relaxed environment. The video presentation is followed
with a time to ask questions and share discussion.
If you would like to find out more about any of the courses
then please contact
the church office.

Men’s Breakfast
On the first Saturday of almost every month, you will find a
group of men at Emmanuel gathering together in the Church basement
for great food, fellowship, fun, and teaching.

Small Groups
Small groups provide a great opportunity for encouragement,
fellowship and learning together. We have several small
groups at Emmanuel. If you are interested in joining a
small group please contact the church office.
Our day time small group meets at the Christian
Education Building (right next door to the church) on Wednesday
Mornings from 10- 11:30 am. We look at and discuss the readings for the coming
Sunday followed by a short communion service. On the first
Wednesday of every month the group goes to a local nursing home
to lead a service for the residents.
